Blood & trade chronicles
Korovoso is situated on the tip of the peninsula named the Pomarj, separating the Azure Sea from the Sea of Gearnet. It’s attraction when founded lay entirely in it’s strategic trade location, and not for its sunny beaches.
The beaches of Korovoso are made up of a sticky, soft mud. Small creatures (such as halflings and goblins) are able to move across it relatively easily, but anyone larger ends up sinking several feet into the mud and needs to be picked out. As a result, the only practical way of arriving in Korovoso is by the numerous piers that jut out along the entire city coastline. Many of these piers are in disrepair and are not yet ready for use.
Some areas of the beach are particularly dangerous – these are the areas in which the sewer outlets have been covered by the mud. The city’s waste seeps into the mud here, creating a horrible stench. The mud itself is toxic, and all are advised to stay well away from it. The Goblins have learned to coat their weapons and arrow tips with this mud, which remains toxic for 1-2 days when applied. Of course, goblins that use this tactic can usually be detected easily due to the stench that accompanies them.
